santa claus parade season

Oh yes,  Here it is upon us again.  Another Season of Santa Claus parades. looking outside at the first one here it appears to be raining. how perfect. I’m sick, have not trained in 2 days and now must dance down a street with my drum in the rain for an hour or so.  Sounds like fun. I’m off

Holy Cow MAN….a race from coast to coast

I know! I haven’t blogged in ages. As usual it was because I did not know what to write as my idea of running across Canada raising money for the Cancer society and awareness for the  importance of physical fitness and a balanced diet (ie lifestyle) was at a another stand still. How er that stand still is no more. I have been Challenged. Well we all know I AM challenged…..lol, but this is a challenge in a race across this great country. This person wants to prove Aesop’s theory of the tortoise and the hare. That’s right.  He’s going to walk and I’m going to run….see how gets there first. It’s genius. More to come….

Cross Training

Are runners insane for getting up so early on Saturday’s. I slept in till 7:19 and felt guilty when i finally did arise. Good luck to all those racing this weekend. I was reading a runner’s forum at www.runningmania.com It is great place to get tips from others on the trials and tribulation on training and living full lives.  As for me….

Had my first ART session yesterday on my foot. I was impressed. it hurt…..and It feels some what better already, however, it seems as though the pain is moving freely now and is not centralized in the same location….does this make sense to anyone?

It seems this injury has moved me more into triathlons from pure running. I get to train more hours a week to improve my cario endurance and less stress on my joints. Which will hopefully mean less unjuries. After 1 month of swimming 4-5 times a week I can almost say  “I CAN SWIM”….almost. Either way my first EVER triathlon is coming on on July 20th here in Grimsby, Ontario. Should be a blast.

PAcking today as my fiance , the dogs and I are heading to “the farm” ( a place of tranquility and serene battery recharging) for a couple of days for me and my best buds birthday. Planning on lots of riding, some swimming and running, golf and beach….oh and some quality whiskey on the front porch. Where we will solve the worlds problems one drink at a time……. happy training folks…

Today’s training

What a day. I celebrated my 14th anniversary of being Cancer free yesterday. YEAH! So i continued my celebration of life today with a 70km run and followed it with a 8km run.I wanted to run further but i think Caleigh would kil me. She had me doing 3-4km recovery run. As i am just recovering from the injury. However, I did run fairly slow Caleigh……:)

They say your body is the most important tool you will ever possess. Which made me think. we oil our tools, keep them clean, care for them, even provide them with preventative maintenance. What have you done for your body lately?
