one of my best runs

Filed under: Training — beatcancer @ 7:34 am

I think I had like my best run ever today..well maybe not THE best, But close. I ran with Casey and the dogs. I didn’t worry about time, heart rate, stride count, pace. NOTHING. Just ran, with music in one ear and the other on the world, casey and the dogs. What a blast. I suggest to anyone that runs seriously enough to time and check their heartrate to go for a run with no rules once and a while. Its really refreshing to do. Makes you remember why you love it so much. training does work folks, csey is getting faster. Gonna catch me soon…….and thats ok with me.

headache thoughts

Filed under: Training — beatcancer @ 2:28 pm

So this headache is almost better it seems. The chiropractor seems to be making a difference. Here’s the thing. After 10 days i went to emergency…..spent 5 hours and got an IV of salt water to hydrate….in case that was the cause (dehyration) Saw my family doctor on day 12 and he booked a CT scan, said he’d call with a time and date……after 14 days i went to chiropractor and when I left I felt the “vice grip” come off ,but the headache remained and seemed to move around my entire head to jaw, teeth, back of neck etc…… after 21 days back to the emergency…and after 5 hours again a doctor looked in my eyes, gave me tylonol 3 and said will book a CT scan and call you. To date they have’nt called. The hospital my doctor booked my CT scan with called with the time and date. day 27 back to the chiropractor and another chat and crack. again left feeling a little better. then got the reults of the CT scan…….”its not a tumah” yeah. so now what. My doctor is debating whether its warrented to get a xray of the neck and nasal cavity to see if there is an obstruction there anywhere, as suggested by my chiropractor. DEBATING? this is my head and it hurts on day 29 now. however it is slowing getting better it seems. So guess where i am going next? back to chiropractor on monday. I realize our healthcare system is free, but what good is free if it is not working? it’s over worked? if canadians were healthier would it be less worked and then more successful when needed? food for thought folks

on my run today

Filed under: Training — beatcancer @ 11:00 pm

Lex and I ran into these twoladies, their 2 dogs and 2 boys. They meet in the park near where i start most of my runs. With the dogs and boys. They walk and talk….the kids play ball and the dogs run. How beautiful and perfect is that. If everyone did that I woudn’t be running across canada, and canada would be one healthy place, physically and mentally. By the way ladies I didn’t get your names or the dogs. If you’d like t drop me a line and let me know I’ll be sure to say hello next time our paths cross. Good luck with the running and the side stiches. Great to have met you.

This morning wa sthe first day in 22 days that my head did not hurt. However, it seems to maybe be creeping back in a bit. Lets hope not. Beingthat the CT scan was thursday and I haven’t heard anything yet I am gong to assume that is good. As they say “bad news travels fast” later folks

interesting

Filed under: Training — beatcancer @ 4:12 am

It is INTERESTING, how easy it is to scare a cancer survivor. So I’ve had a headache for nearly 3 weeks. Actually the head ache just lifted yesterday making it 19 days long. It came and went with intesity but was ALWAYS there. The pain moved around from the frontal lobe to back to C3 then yesterday started moving around to my nasal cavty, eye sockets, back of nose ears. I finally got a CT scan at the hospital yesterday and results come in Early next week. Heres the thing. If I wasn’t a cancer survivor, would i be as paranoid as i am about it being a tumor? All I can think…what else can it be? Well I feel pretty good right now. But what does that mean? arrggg. Cheers

remember

Filed under: Training — beatcancer @ 9:18 pm

It is rememberence day. The day we give thanx, to all the people who sacrificed their lives and time to give us the world we have today. Casue lets face it. If they didn’t, we could very well be sacrificing jews and singing hail hitler. Really, who knows how things would have turned out. I for one am glad the way it is. So thank you Grandpa, and too everyone else’s grandpa, and grandma, uncle, aunt, parent, friend, significant other. Thank you for giving us this oppourtunity at a canada that is free. Where we are for all intensive purposes, free to do what we want with this life. So I say, get up, get off the couch. get mobile. Motion creates the motion. Start moving arond and excercising and see how you feel. See where it takes you. Maybe, just maybe you will be inspired to be better. Maybe inspired enough to be the best you, you can be.

peace
